The idea that profit maximization is the sole goal of corporations has been banished long ago; at SPAN, we inherently understand that companies must play an important role in contributing to the well-being, safety and technological advancement of their communities. It is in this spirit, and with an initiative from Dubai Civil Defence, that SPAN collaborated with SAP, BodyTrak, HERE and NextNav, to create an entirely new smart tracking solution tailored for the Public Sector First Responders and hosted a community awareness event to share knowledge on the solution’s benefits.

The solution is designed specifically for industrial health & safety, defense and first responder (civil defense, police, firefighting, etc.) sectors. It provides users with a 360-degree visibility on employee and asset health and performance, with access to real-time data and powerful analytics. This includes vital signs, exact whereabouts, equipment levels, oxygen levels, and overall health and safety measurements. This means that users can identify where a firefighter is at any time, whether they have cell reception or not, how much oxygen is still available in his/her tank, whether the firefighter is running, how fast their heart is beating, and more, and by doing so, enable command centers to take quick, life-saving corrective actions.

During the event, SPAN also provided live demos of various automation and robotics solutions available in its demo space in Dubai, including VLMs, robotic sorters, smart trolleys among others, that can bring meaningful efficiency to operations.
