Dubai, UAE — SPAN has completed the full racking design and installation for DSV's newly inaugurated warehouse in Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone. The facility, spanning 30,000 sqm with approximately 75,000 pallet positions, is designed to support temperature-controlled storage, dangerous goods handling, and complex supply chain operations across the region.
SPAN's scope covered the design and installation of very narrow aisle (VNA) and selective racking, fire barrier sheets, pallet location barcodes, aisle indicators, and flexible safety protection, configured to meet the operational and compliance requirements of a multi-zone facility of this scale.
Nadim Al Fakih, Regional Sales Director, SPAN: "DSV came to us with a complex brief — a large facility, mixed product types, and very specific operational requirements. Getting the racking configuration right took time, but that's the job. You don't cut corners on the planning when the build has to last."
Chrys Mendonca, Managing Director, Contract Logistics, Dubai at DSV, said: "Getting the infrastructure right in a facility like this matters more than people think. When you're handling temperature-controlled goods and dangerous goods under the same roof, there's no room for a one-size-fits-all approach. SPAN got that."
The JAFZA facility adds to DSV's existing 243,000 sqm warehousing footprint in the UAE, further consolidating the company's position in one of the region's most active logistics hubs.
