Pharmaline chose to partner with SPAN to expand its distribution center in Nahr Ibrahim, Lebanon. In recent years, Pharmaline’s business had rapidly grown, and their distribution center was running out of floor space to accommodate and store their expanding pharmaceutical range, adding pressure on their productivity and efficiency.

After several meetings with the Pharmaline logistics team, SPAN recommended a comprehensive warehouse solution that addressed all the customer’s requirements.  The facility was divided into two main areas: a bulk storage section that was mainly comprised of selective pallet racking, and a forward pick section that was comprised of shelving systems equipped with dividers. The objective was to accommodate a larger number of SKUs while increasing productivity and optimizing the material flow in a safe working environment. The new dedicated picking area helped Pharmaline increase productivity by 30% and improve efficiency by a staggering 15%.

The recommended solution not only ensured efficient space utilization to accommodate the predicted expansion over the next three years, but it also guaranteed a smoother operation. Furthermore, SPAN’s team delivered several Jungheinrich electrical pedestrian stackers characterised by their compact design specially developed for the internal transfer of goods over short distances. Finally, the team installed Campisa’s sectional doors that enhanced the speed of the loading and unloading process while reducing risks on operators and conserving energy.
